US coronavirus models now suggest more coronavirus deaths after previously anticipating fewer deaths, this comes as states begin to lift their stay-at-home orders

• The estimated number of coronavirus deaths in the US went up to a little less than 66,000 by August on Tuesday.
• Experts say these numbers depend on social distancing being maintained till then. 
• States like Georgia recently announced lifts on their stay-at-home orders beginning this week.

The main model used to estimate the impact of the coronavirus outbreak in the United States revised its death toll this week to 74,073 August 4 — an increase from an April 21 projection of 65,976 deaths by August. 

The US death toll has so far surpassed 56,700.
