- The MAGA faithful rallied around a twice-indicted Trump, and pointed fingers at Joe Biden.
- They claim the indictment distracts people from a $5 million bribe that Biden received.
- Marjorie Taylor Greene, Matt Gaetz, and Lauren Boebert were some of the first to speak out.
After former President Donald Trump broke the news himself that he's getting indicted for a second time, the MAGA faithful rallied around him and directed their ire at President Joe Biden.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Rep. Matt Gaetz, and Rep. Lauren Boebert were some of many Trumpworld figures who quickly claimed, without substantiation, that Biden is responsible for the Trump indictment. In several posts on Twitter, they made the argument that Trump's indictment is just a ploy to distract Americans from another controversy — rumors that Biden and his family took $5 million worth of bribes from foreign nationals.
Greene tweeted on Thursday: "This is what Joe Biden got paid $5 million to do. And the FBI knew about it before the 2020 election."
"While we have solid proof Joe Biden got paid $5 million for a quid pro quo scheme, the DOJ is planning to indict President Trump tomorrow for the classified document hoax," she added.

Gaetz tweeted shortly after: "The phony Boxes Hoax indictment is an attempt to distract the American public from the millions of dollars in bribes that the Biden Crime Family received from foreign nationals."
"This scheme won't succeed. President Donald Trump will be back in the White House and Joe Biden will be Hunter's cellmate," he wrote.

Boebert chimed in as well through a video on Twitter on Thursday night, claiming that she had seen documents that proved that "Joe Biden was involved in a $5 million bribery scheme to sell out the American people."
"Thanks a lot, big guy," Boebert said.

Maryland Rep. Andy Harris jumped on the Biden-bashing bandwagon, tweeting: "It's no coincidence the Biden DOJ is now planning to indict a political opponent right after the FBI was forced to turn over documents detailing bribery and corruption by the Biden family."
Sen. Marsha Blackburn from Tennessee tweeted: "Now that President Biden is reportedly involved in a $5 million bribery scheme with a foreign nation, what does the DOJ do? Attempt to interfere with a congressional investigation into Biden and go after Trump instead."
The GOP's renewed attack on Biden stems from an unsubstantiated allegation that Biden was given a $5 million bribe from the Ukrainian gas company Burisma Holdings. Biden's son, Hunter Biden, was a Burisma board member from 2014 to 2019.
Representatives for the GOP members did not immediately respond to requests for comment from Insider sent outside regular business hours.
