- Xiaomi has launched the Poco C3 in India.
- Specs include a triple rear camera array, 5,000mAh battery, and 6.53-inch display.
- It’s now Poco’s cheapest smartphone in India.
Xiaomi brand Poco is no stranger to India’s fierce budget smartphone battle. To bolster its ranks, it today announced the Poco C3, the cheapest Poco phone available.
At this price point, you probably shouldn’t expect any ambitious unique designs from the firm. The Poco C3 shares most of its specs with the Redmi 9C, a phone that launched in Europe and other global markets earlier this year.
Aesthetically, Poco does put its own spin on the C3, and compared to its Redmi cousin it’s arguably the better looker. A dual-tone finish features at the rear while the company’s logo sits just below the squared camera array. It’s available in three colorways too: Arctic Blue, Lime Green, and Matte Black.
Upfront, the Poco C3 wears a 6.53-inch HD+ display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. Internally, a MediaTek Helio G35 chipset joins up to 4GB of RAM (1GB more than the Redmi 9C) and 64GB of storage. There are dedicated microSD and dual SIM slots, too. At the rear, the Poco C3 packs a 13MP main camera, a 2MP depth camera, and a 2MP macro camera.
A 5,000mAh battery also features which Poco claims will offer users 14 hours of non-stop gaming. The brand also believes the battery’s good for over three years’ worth of charging cycles before any notable degradation.
As for price and availability, the Poco C3 will also arrive in a 3GB/32GB variant which starts at Rs 7,499 (~$102). The more premium 4GB/64GB model is priced at Rs 8,999 (~$123). That’s a decidedly aggressive price point, especially compared to Realme’s C series and other sub-Rs 10,000 phones in India. You’ll have to wait until October 16 to purchase one on Flipkart, though.
