Update: October 8, 2020 (3:20 AM ET): Honor has launched two new smartwatches in India. The Honor Watch GS Pro and Honor Watch ES were first announced at IFA 2020 and will go on sale in India through Flipkart and Amazon, respectively. Both smartwatches promise battery life for days and offer different designs to choose from. You can read more about their specs and features in the original article below.
The Honor Watch GS Pro is priced at Rs. 17,999 (~$245) and will be available starting October 16. The Honor Watch ES comes in cheaper at Rs. 7,499 (~$102) and will go on sale starting October 17.
Original article: October 2, 2020 (7 AM ET): Honor launched its new smartwatch duo in Europe in early September. Now, the company has confirmed on Twitter that both will be introduced to India shortly. While the Honor Watch GS Pro and Honor Watch ES appeal to two vastly different audiences, they both focus primarily on fitness.
For starters, the more rugged Watch GS Pro packs a 1.39-inch circular AMOLED display tucked into a polycarbonate body. The GS Pro is also MIL-STD-810G tested, sports 5 ATM water resistance, and includes a 790mAh battery. That provides around 16 days between charges, based on our review.
As with many wearables launched in 2020, there’s an SpO2 sensor to keep tabs on the wearer’s blood saturation levels, while 95 workout modes are probably too many for one to realistically use. And if you’re frequently walking the road less traveled, the watch has a nifty offline way-back feature that can help the wearer retrace steps. Onboard GPS is also available.
The Watch ES meanwhile features a rectangular body with a 1.64-inch AMOLED display. Although the battery reportedly lasts just 10 days in comparison, a 70% top-up takes a quoted 30 minutes. Honor’s also cramming 95 workout modes into the ES, while an SpO2 monitor, heart-rate sensor, and stress monitoring system also feature.
Honor India is yet to quote pricing info for both, but we can hedge our bets based on European stickers. The Watch GS Pro debuted at £250 (~$293) in the UK, with the Watch ES coming in around £150 (~$176) cheaper. Tech prices in India are regularly lower than European pricing, so expect both devices to come in a little cheaper than this.
More details will be announced on October 8 at 12 PM IST (2:30 AM ET), but Honor confirms the Watch GS Pro will be sold on Flipkart. The Watch ES, meanwhile, will debut on Amazon India.
