  • A new leak suggests that the Pixel 5 could be equipped with a 120Hz screen.
  • The display is also said to be 6.67-inches in size.
  • This would be an increase in size and refresh rate over the Pixel 4 XL.

Google finally launched the Pixel 4a this week, after months of delays and leaks. It also used the occasion to confirm a fall launch for the Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5.

Now, display insider and founder of Display Supply Chain Consultants Ross Young has tweeted that one of these upcoming phones will pack a large screen size and a 120Hz screen. Check out the tweet below.

You have to assume that the phone in question is the Google Pixel 5, as it’s set to be Google’s proper flagship and its predecessor packed a 90Hz screen last year. Furthermore, Google’s Pixel A series is a mid-range device, and budget phones tend to see more compromises. For example, the standard Pixel 4a doesn’t have a 90Hz screen, let alone a 120Hz option.

If these screen specs are confirmed, it would also mean that the Pixel 5 packs a slightly bigger screen than the Pixel 4 XL’s 6.3-inch panel. Presumably this is due to a punch-hole design, giving a higher screen/body ratio.

It’s worth noting however that frequent tipster Ishan Agarwal claimed that the Pixel 4a 5G is the phone on the right in the image at the top of this article. So either the Pixel 4a 5G has an even bigger screen than the Google Pixel 5’s alleged 6.67-inch display, or the Pixel 5 is actually the device on the right.
