- A new Poco series phone, called the Poco C3, has surfaced online.
- The phone appears to be a rebranded Redmi 9C.
- This would be the latest example of Poco rebranding Redmi phones.
Xiaomi’s Poco sub-brand has been offering rebranded smartphones for the entirety of 2020, with the Poco F2 Pro, Poco M2 Pro, and Poco X2 all based on existing Redmi devices.
Now, a brand-new Poco phone, dubbed the Poco C3, has appeared on the Bluetooth SIG website. Or rather, it looks like another rebranded Redmi phone instead of a brand-new design. Check out the listing below.
More specifically, the Poco C3’s model number (M2006C3MI) seems to line up with the Redmi 9C’s number included in the filing (M2006C3MG). Xiaomi tends to change the last letter in a model number to reflect the phone’s region, so “I” refers to India and “G” refers to “global” markets.
In other words, it looks like the Poco C3 is bound for India — the Redmi 9C already launched in markets like Europe and Malaysia.
The Redmi 9C serves up a lightweight Helio G35 processor, a 13MP triple camera setup, and a 5,000mAh battery. It retails for €119 (~$136) in Europe, but history shows us that we can expect a slightly lower price in India.
