- Asus has confirmed that the ROG Phone 3 will indeed have a 6,000mAh battery.
- This is in line with a certification listing and the ROG Phone 2.
- Several accessories have also leaked online ahead of tomorrow’s launch.
The Asus ROG Phone series is arguably the top gaming phone family right now, offering impressive specs and shoulder buttons. We already know the ROG Phone 3 is coming tomorrow (July 22) and now Asus has confirmed a rather big battery for the phone.
The company announced on Weibo that the Asus ROG Phone 3 will pack a 6,000mAh battery, in line with the ROG Phone 2’s capacity. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about a 6,000mAh pack for the ROG Phone 3 either, as the phone’s TENAA filing listed this capacity too. Check out the Weibo poster below, confirming the battery size.
Our own Ryan-Thomas Shaw noted in his ROG Phone 2 review that the 6,000mAh battery delivered two days of endurance as well. We wouldn’t be surprised if the ROG Phone 3 achieves similar endurance, although 5G will undoubtedly drain a little more juice.
This latest disclosure joins Asus previously confirming that the new phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 865 Plus processor. This chipset packs slight clock speed boosts for the Prime CPU core and Adreno 650 GPU.
This isn’t the only ROG Phone 3 info to emerge ahead of the launch, as PriceBaba and tipster Ishan Agarwal have posted renders of the ROG Phone 3 accessories. Check a few images out below.
The images show several familiar accessories, including a cooling fan, the Nintendo DS-style TwinView Dock, and the Switch-style Kunai GamePad. But we also get a look at a case complete with what seems to be RGB lighting.
The ROG Phone 3 isn’t the only gaming phone launching tomorrow, as the Lenovo Legion gaming phone is also set for a July 22 launch. So if the Asus product doesn’t pique your interest, then this peculiar phone (featuring a side-mounted pop-up camera) might be up your alley.
