- Trump tweeted out the photo, which featured a watermark for the conservative website The Daily Wire, alongside a caption which read: "AMERICAN HERO!"
- Users on Twitter began sharing their own photoshopped images inspired by Trump's tweet.
- Trump later shared the photo on Twitter again, thanking The Daily Wire for their "very cute recreation" and tweeting that the real dog, now known to be named Conan, would be leaving the Middle East next week and visiting the White House.
