Doctors Explain Her Rare Condition

And then 26 DAYS LATER SHE GAVE BIRTH TO TWINS!
According to CNN, the bizarre, yet still miraculous incident came about because it was learned that the woman had two uteruses.

Arifa Sultana first gave birth to her baby boy in late February, according to Dr. Sheila Poddar, a gynecologist at Ad-Din hospital in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Everything was normal, and the mother and her child were released from a different hospital in Dhaka.
Then, lest than four weeks later, Sultana was admitted to the Ad-Din hospital.
“She came to the hospital complaining of lower abdominal pain,” Poddar said. Doctors then carried out an anultrasound and learned that Sultana was STILL pregnant. Not just with one child, but with TWINS.
The exhaustion.
But of course, the two new miracles had to land on planet earth, so doctors quickly carried out a C-section to deliver them — a boy and a girl. “All three children are safe and healthy,” Poddar said. “The mother is also fine.”
Sultana apparently has a condition called uterus didelphys, which results in someone having two uteruses. Her twins and her first baby were conceived and grown in separate wombs. Sultana didn’t receive an ultrasound before the first delivery, so the whole situation was missed, Poddar said.
“It is not very common to have two uteruses. When the uterus develops, it comes from two tubes, and those tubes fuse together. For some women, the fusion does not occur, and the dividing wall does not dissolve,” said Dr. S.N. Basu, head of gynecology and obstetrics at Max Healthcare hospital in New Delhi.
Just having twins is rare on top of having uterus didelphys. According to the National Institute of Health, the occurrence of twin gestation has an overall incidence rate of 1 in a million.
Smh.
Truly a miracle.
