Xiaomi has already detailed its latest flagship, the Xiaomi Mi 9, but it’s now revealed the Mi Mix 3 5G in Barcelona as part of MWC 2019.
The phone differs from the standard Mi Mix 3 by offering a Snapdragon 855 chipset and Qualcomm’s X50 5G modem. You’re also looking at a larger battery here, delivering a 3,800mAh battery compared to the Mi Mix 3’s 3,200mAh pack. But otherwise, you’re looking at the same slider design as the standard model.
In terms of other specs, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G offers a 6.39-inch OLED display (full HD+), a 12MP+12MP telephoto rear camera pairing, a 24MP+2MP front camera setup, and a dedicated Google Assistant key.
The company also conducted a 5G video call with the phone, claiming it was the first time it conducted a 5G video call outside of China. Xiaomi has also revealed 5G network partnerships with Orange, Sunrise, Three, Telefonica, Tim, and Vodafone. But there’s no word if this means the Mi Mix 3 5G will be available via these carriers.
The Mi Mix 3 5G will retail for 599 euros (~$679), making it quite possibly the cheapest 5G flagship of 2019. The device will be available in May, so you won’t have to wait too long to get your hands on the phone.
