The Samsung Galaxy Fold has just been announced, and it’s the first foldable phone with a flexible screen from the world’s largest smartphone maker. When in its closed smartphone mode, it has a 4.6-inch external screen, but when you fold it out, it turns into a 7.3-inch tablet, thanks to Samsung’s own Infinity-Flex display.
So, how much is the Samsung Galaxy Fold, when will you be able to get one, and where can you purchase it? Here’s all we know so far about the Samsung Galaxy Fold price, release date, and availability. We will be updating this post as more information is revealed by Samsung and wireless carriers.
Samsung Galaxy Fold price
During its Unpacked press event, the company said the Samsung Galaxy Fold will come in two versions; one that will work on current 4G LTE networks, and another that will connect to the upcoming 5G carrier networks. The Galaxy Fold will be priced starting at $1,980, and presumably, that will be for the 4G LTE model. That likely means the 5G version of the Galaxy Fold will be priced at well over $2,000.

The Samsung Galaxy Fold release date is a little over two months away as of this writing; the Galaxy Fold is currently slated to launch on April 26. Samsung has not yet indicated when preorders for the Galaxy Fold will begin.

So far, we don’t have any concrete information on the availability of the Samsung Galaxy Fold, in terms of which countries and carriers will have the phone on the April 26 launch date. We will update this post when we learn more.
