  • Samsung announced it will launch the Galaxy A9 (2018) in India later this month.
  • There will be two versions of the Galaxy A9: one with 6GB of RAM, and the other with 8GB.
  • Everything else about the two versions will be the same, including the quad rear-camera system.

After launching the Galaxy A9 (2018) in Europe, Samsung announced today that the world’s first smartphone with four rear cameras will be available in India by the end of November.

The Galaxy A9 will be available in two versions: one with 6GB of RAM and another with 8GB. Both versions feature the same 128GB of expandable storage, so the only difference between them is the RAM amount.

When the Galaxy A9 goes on sale November 28 through all online and offline channels, the 6GB and 8GB versions will sell for 36,990 and 39,990 rupees, respectively. India residents can pick up the phone in Caviar Black, Lemonade Blue, and Bubblegum Pink.

As a refresher, the Galaxy A9 features four main cameras around back: the main 24-megapixel camera with f/1.7 aperture, 10MP telephoto camera, 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 5MP sensor only used to collect depth information. The rear quad camera system allows for flexibility we have not seen from a smartphone, but it remains to be seen whether it can deliver great pictures.

Elsewhere, the Galaxy A9 features a 6.3-inch Super AMOLED display with a 2,220 x 1,080 resolution, Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 660 processor, and a 3,800mAh battery. The phone unfortunately runs Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, so here is hoping Android 9 Pie is not too far out.
