- The Samsung Wireless Charger Duo is available today.
- The device will simultaneously charge a smartphone and a watch, or two smartphones.
- The Samsung Wireless Charger Duo costs $120, which is much more expensive than comparable products.
At the Samsung Unpacked event yesterday, Sammy spent a whole lot of time on launching the Samsung Galaxy Note 9. It also introduced us to the Galaxy Home smart speaker and the Samsung Galaxy Watch.
But Samsung didn’t put too much emphasis on its first wireless charger that can charge two devices at once: the Samsung Wireless Charger Duo. The new item is available to order now in either black or white.
The Wireless Charger Duo has a stand that’s designed to prop up and charge a smartphone, and also has a flat, slotted area that’s primarily designed to wirelessly charge a smartwatch (like the Samsung Galaxy Watch, naturally). However, you could charge two smartphones on the Charger Duo if you wanted, as the area designed for a watch will charge a smartphone as well.
The Charger Duo is obviously designed to work well with Samsung flagships that feature wireless charging capabilities, like the Samsung Galaxy S9 and the previously-mentioned Note 9. Both those devices have fast-charging capabilities, and this dual charger will take advantage of that.
However, if you don’t own a Samsung flagship and instead have a Qi-certified product like the Apple iPhone X, LG G7 ThinQ, Nokia 8 Sirocco, or the Sony Xperia XZ2, don’t fret: this charger will work for those devices, too.
Now for the bad news: Samsung is asking $120 for the Wireless Charger Duo, which is quite the pretty penny. The price is especially high when you compare it to similar products like this one which you can get for only $40. Granted, that’s not made by Samsung and doesn’t prop up the phone – but it also saves you $80.
