- The unnamed artist responsible for the installation told The Hollywood Reporter he was motivated by the recent vandalism of Trump's actual Walk of Fame star.
- The artist said the West Hollywood city council's vote this week recommending Trump's star be removed also motivated him to take action.
- But the fake stars didn't last. A local cleaning crew started peeling them off the ground before dawn on Thursday.
