South Korea's military considering pulling troops away from DMZ border 'on a trial basis' amid eased tensions with North Korea

South Korea is reportedly considering withdrawing some of its military forces and equipment from guard posts on the border with North Korea on a "trial basis," according to a Yonhap News report published on Monday.

It's part of an effort to promote friendlier ties between the two countries, South Korea's defense ministry outlined a plan to transform the [Demilitarized Zone] into a "peace zone," the defense ministry said, referring to the buffer between North and South Korea.
