Michael Jackson’s fans hit out at ‘weird’ sample on Drake’s new album

"Unless they put a shit load of effects on his voice, that shit fake"

Michael Jackson‘s fans have branded his appearance on Drake’s new album as ‘weird’ – after an unreleased song from the late music icon featured on the record.

On new album ‘Scorpion’, Drake is heard rapping alongside MJ on ‘Don’t Matter To Me’, the first time the track has been heard since Jackson’s death in 2009.

But it’s already dividing fans, with some questioning the ethical implications of featuring Jackson without his permission.

“I just find it odd the the MJ Estate would use precious vocals on what appears to be an album track for Drake. Is this hit material? If no, why bother? More than happy to be proven wrong”, one fan wrote on Twitter.

Another said: “That first posthumous MJ album had fake MJ vocals and this Drake record sounds fake too.

“Unless they put a shit load of effects on his voice, that shit fake..They tried to get his vibrato on one note..Could be wrong but I’m not buying it.”

Other big talking points on Scorpion include Drake acknowledging that he has a son called Adonis.


On the track ‘Emotionless’, Drake raps: “I wasn’t hiding my kid from the world, I was hiding the world from my kid…Breaking news in my life I don’t run to the blogs/ the only ones I want to tell are in my phone I can call/ They always ask, ‘Why let it run if it’s false’/ You know a wise man once said nothing at all.”
