The “Love So Soft” American Idol alum performed her cover of The Guess Who‘s “American Woman” during the 2018 CMT Music Awards at Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday night (June 6) in Nashville, Tenn.

Kelly‘s powerful rendition of the often covered song is also the theme song for the upcoming Paramount TV series American Woman, which is loosely based on the early life of Kyle Richards.
