Nominations for the 94th Academy Awards were announced on February 8, and the ceremony will air March 27 on ABC. Amy Schumer, Regina Hall, and Wanda Sykes are set to host, marking the first time three women take on hosting duties for the event.
Ten films are up for best picture this year, including hits like "Don't Look Up," big-budget epics like "Dune," and critical favorites like "Drive My Car." Netflix's "The Power of the Dog" leads the pack with 12 nominations in total. Meanwhile, Apple TV Plus snagged its first Oscar nomination for best picture with its original film "CODA."

"Belfast," written and directed by Kenneth Branagh, follows a young boy and his Protestant family in Northern Ireland at the beginning of The Troubles, a period of unrest that began in the 1960s between Catholics and Protestants. Supporting actors Judi Dench and Ciarán Hinds also received nominations for their performances.
"Belfast" is currently only available to buy from video-on-demand (VOD) retailers, but a cheaper rental option is expected on March 1.

Streaming on Apple TV Plus
"CODA" is an acronym for "child of deaf adults." In the movie, a family learns how to navigate change when Ruby, a CODA, is encouraged to pursue music and forge her own path. The film made Academy Awards history as Troy Kotsur became the first deaf man nominated for an acting Oscar. "CODA" is exclusive to Apple TV Plus.

Adam McKay's political satire has been a polarizing film in this year's Oscar race. In "Don't Look Up," two astronomers (played by Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio) discover a comet headed toward Earth and try to warn humanity before it's too late. The star-studded cast also includes Jonah Hill, Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett, Tyler Perry, Ariana Grande, and Timothée Chalamet.
"Don't Look Up" is a Netflix original film, so you won't find it on any other services.

Streaming on HBO Max starting March 2
This Japanese movie, also nominated for best foreign film, is adapted from a Haruki Murakami short story. Following the death of his wife, a director is offered a two-month residency at a theater in Hiroshima where he will oversee a multi-lingual production of "Uncle Vanya." The film focuses on the drive to Hiroshima in addition to the rehearsal process.

"Dune," adapted from Frank Herbert's epic novel, stars Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides, the heir to a noble family who must watch over the deadly planet Arrakis. Directed by Denis Villeneuve, the cast of "Dune" also includes Oscar Isaac, Jason Momoa, Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem, Stellan Skarsgard, Rebecca Ferguson, and Zendaya.
Though "Dune" premiered on HBO Max the same day it hit theaters, it's currently only available to buy or rent from VOD retailers. The movie is expected to return to HBO Max later this year.

Based on a true story, "King Richard" chronicles the life of Richard Williams as he coaches his daughters, Venus and Serena, with the hope of shaping them into professional tennis players. Will Smith received a best actor nomination for his portrayal of Williams in the film.
"King Richard" initially debuted on HBO Max and in theaters at the same time, but right now it's only available to buy from VOD retailers. The movie will likely return to HBO Max later this year.

"Licorice Pizza" is not currently available to stream
This coming-of-age film from director Paul Thomas Anderson is about a 15-year-old child actor who falls in love at first sight with a 25-year-old photography assistant. Newcomer Cooper Hoffman and singer Alana Haim both make their film debuts in the critically acclaimed movie; Bradley Cooper and Sean Penn also co-star.
"Licorice Pizza" is expected to be available to rent or buy from major streaming retailers later this year, but an exact release date has not been announced.

In this noir-inspired adaptation of William Lindsay Gresham's 1946 book, Bradley Cooper stars as a carnival mentalist who works with a psychiatrist (Cate Blanchett) to pull off his most dangerous con yet. The film is directed by Guillermo del Toro, who previously won an Oscar for his 2017 film "The Shape of Water."

"The Power of the Dog," written and directed by Jane Campion, is an adaptation of Thomas Savage's 1967 novel. Benedict Cumberbatch stars as Phil, a rancher who spends a summer taunting his sister-in-law's son (Peter, played by Kodi Smit-McPhee) because of his intellect and kindness. Over the course of the summer, Phil and Peter's relationship evolves, as the story explores themes of grief and love.
"The Power of the Dog" is a Netflix original film so it won't be streaming on any other services.

Steven Spielberg's new take on "West Side Story" is a reimagining of the 1961 film and 1957 musical production of the same name. Inspired by Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet," "West Side Story" follows the tragic romance of Tony and Maria, two teens caught on opposite sides of a gang war on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
"West Side Story" will be available to stream on Disney Plus and HBO Max on March 2. All subscribers will be able to watch without paying any extra fees.
