In April 2018, Haley appeared on CBS's "Face the Nation" and announced that the US intended to impose additional sanctions on Russia for "supporting and protecting" Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. New Russian sanctions had been the subject of "multiple conversations and meetings of the administration's national security officials at the time, Haley wrote in her upcoming book, "With All Due Respect: Defending America with Grit and Grace."
