Recently, we published an article about which OEMs are updating their smartphones the fastest when it comes to the latest Android 9 Pie. HMD Global — which owns the Nokia mobile brand — was number one on the list.

Continuing that impressive streak, HMD Global just announced on Twitter that Android 9 Pie is rolling out now to the budget Nokia 3.1 smartphone. In fact, in the tweet, Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas called out Android Authority specifically.

The Nokia 3.1 launched in the summer of last year with Android 8.1 Oreo as its operating system. The budget smartphone has a MSRP of $160 but you can grab one now for much cheaper than that. For example, Amazon.com has the Nokia 3.1 available right now for only $140. That’s not a bad price for an Android 9 Pie smartphone!
