Nia Vardalos and Ian Gomez have split after 25 years of marriage.
The My Big Fat Greek Wedding star filed for divorce from Ian on Tuesday (July 3) and their date of separation is listed as June 29, 2017, according to The Blast.
Irreconcilable differences was listed as the reason for the split. Nia and Ian got married in 1993 and they have one adopted daughter together.
My Big Fat Greek Wedding was inspired by Nia‘s relationship with Ian, who starred in the movie as John Corbett‘s best man. She went on to write both a sequel and a short-lived TV spinoff series.
Ian starred in all six seasons of the show Cougar Town.
